Florida State's lone quarterback commitment in the 2025 class is four-star signal caller Tramell Jones Jr. out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin High School.

Jones has been committed to the Seminoles for well over a year now but has yet to shut down his recruitment to other schools. The main other factor besides the 'Noles is Florida. The Gators have been in heavy pursuit of Jones' services throughout the past several months and Jones made several unofficial visits to Gainesville this spring.

The question remains on whether Jones will end up taking an official visit to UF -- which would indicate he's not fully locked in with the 'Noles.

Today, at Overtime OT7 7-on-7 tournament in Tampa, he broke down where things stand two weeks before his planned official visit to Tallahassee (June 21-23):

You kind of made a name for yourself this offseason on the seven-on-seven circuit. What does this event mean since it’s the final one? And what are you looking to accomplish?

"This is the last seven-on-seven of my high school career. Just trying to come out here, have fun, come out with a blast, trying to win. That's the main goal to win. Really just trying to get my name out there this offseason. Uh, I know I've had a lot of events this offseason, um, but just trying to stay consistent at each event. I think consistency is key."

You move from this one to probably the one you consider most important in Elite 11. What's the training kind of been like for that? And how prepared do you feel for that event?

"I feel very prepared. My guys, Denny Thompson, Will Hewlett, Cortex Performance, Tom Gormelli, AJ Boswell, they've been getting me right. And my school also Mandarin High School. They've been getting me prepared for three years now. Everything I've been doing throughout this time has been getting me prepared. I think that'd be the most important event just because I'll be going against the top quarterbacks in the country. Show what I can do versus those guys and I want to take it home. I wanna take home all of it."

What's your take on where your recruitment is at right now? Obviously committed to Florida State. But where is your mind at with all of it?

"Florida State. Florida State. Florida State. That's where my mind is at. No official visits scheduled anywhere else. No one's scheduled anywhere -- [no[ unofficial anywhere. No one else, just Florida State official visit June 21st."

There's been some talk about you trying to take an OV to UF in the fall. Is that a possibility, and where does that stand?

"That doesn't stand anywhere. I haven't really communicated with them that I'm going to take one in the fall. I haven't communicated that I'm going to take one in June. I haven't scheduled one. I haven't scheduled one in the fall. So that's where I'm pretty firm at with that. Only Florida State. That's the only school that's really on my mind."

You look at that June 21st weekend, the one you’re OVing to FSU. Have you looked at the list of guys that are going to be there alongside you?

"I review that list probably every day. It's a lot of dogs throughout the whole week of June. I've been talking to a lot of guys and see where their minds at with FSU, but I think that, that June 21st week, it's kind of an unexplainable visit, how many dogs we're going to have on campus that week, and how many people and top targets that we're going to have. I think that the relationship and feeling like home is really going to be there that weekend."

How do you think they plan to manage 24 visitors on campus at the same time?

"To be honest, that's why Coach Norvell is such a great coach. He knows how to manage, he knows where guys are exactly, what they want to see, what their feeling is. And I think a lot of guys he's having on the 21st, they've seen a lot of stuff. They've already seen everything with the unofficial. They're really just getting a deeper dive. Especially with, I don't know who my counselor is or who I'm going to be with. But I think just a lot of guys have done a lot of stuff on their unofficial. They've seen really pretty much everything. They just want to see the deeper dive into the program and the more personal feel."

Call your shot. Who are you going to land off that weekend?

"Call my shot. Call my shot. Vernell Brown III. That's my shot. Vernell Brown III. That's who I want to land. I would say also Tavion Wallace because I know he commits on July 2nd. I call him too."

Talk about, with a guy like Tavion, just what kind of relationship have you built with him?

"I remember I took an unofficial with him. I don't know when it was, but we were on the unofficial. We were talking, he said he really liked it. And then I saw him at Florida and we were talking about Florida State there. And I was like 'bro, you got to lock in Florida state. I mean, that's home.' And he was like 'yes, I'm taking my unofficial.' And I know his brother went to Kentucky and he was talking about a little bit of Kentucky, but, that's something else. But we're talking about Florida State and how he needs to lock in."
