Two of the Dublin city’s best-known pubs are set to change hands for a whopping sum of cash. Foley’s bar and McSorley’s are set to change ownership, for €7m and €5.5m respectively, according to new reports. Both deals are expected to be finalised soon, with negotiations underway. In reports fromThe Irish Times, Merrion Row’s finest, Foley’s bar is being acquired from its current owner Seamus McEnaney by Emerald Investment. Emerald Investment is a private-equity vehicle headed by Cairn Homes co-founder Alan McIntosh. The monumental deal is expected to be finalised in the coming weeks, with the price yet to be confirmed. However, market sources have speculated that the number is between €6m and €7m. McEnaney originally acquired the landmark pub for €3.3 million in 2014. Elsewhere, Ranelagh haunt, McSorley’s pub on Sandford Road, is caught the eye of the consortium of international rugby stars. Jamie Heaslip, Sean O’Brien, Rob and Dave Kearney led by publican Noel Anderson are believed to be finalising a deal to purchase the popular location for an estimated €5.5m. Back in April, The Currency reported that negotiations were underwaywith longstanding owners, the Murray family. The Irish Times is reporting that the deal between the two parties has now been finalised, and a transfer of ownership is imminent. The consortium already owns some of the Southside’s most prolific businesses, including Lemon & Duke, Bridge 1859 and The Blackrock. Today's top videos
