Rams' Zach Evans: On roster bubble

    13h ago

Evans faces a difficult path to earning a spot on the final roster and is a candidate to be cut before the start of the 2024 regular season, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

Evans, a 2023 sixth-round pick, only logged nine rush attempts for 19 yards across 10 regular-season appearances as a rookie, despite the Rams suffering a number of injuries to their backfield. A healthy Kyren Williams remains entrenched atop the depth chart and projects for a workhorse role, while rookie third-rounder Blake Corum projects as his top backup. Boston Scott and Ronnie Rivers are relatively established as capable depth options, so unless he can truly impress in training camp, Evans may find himself the odd man out.

  • Kadarius Toney KC WR

Toney could land on the trade block before the start of the 2024 regular season unless he's able to log an impressive training camp, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.

Toney missed training camp and the preseason last year due to injuries, then struggled with consistency and health before ending up as a healthy scratch for Kansas City's final stretch of games, including the team's Super Bowl win over the 49ers. Now, with the additions of Marquise Brown and rookie first-rounder Xavier Worthy, Toney could be staring down a make-or-break training camp. The same is true for 2022 second-round pick Skyy Moore, plus Mecole Hardman, Justyn Ross and Nikko Remigio, all of whom are competing for limited depth spots behind Brown, Worthy, Rashee Rice and Justin Watson.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Out of walking boot

    17h ago

Prescott (foot), who has been spotted without a protective boot on his right foot, said Tuesday that there's "absolutely nothing" wrong with his ankle, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

Prescott clarified that the walking boot he was spotted wearing in early July was only worn as a precautionary measure after soreness developed in his right ankle, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.com, despite initial reports that the quarterback was nursing a minor sprain. He underwent surgery on that ankle back in 2020 due to a compound fracture and dislocation, so it isn't surprising to see him treating soreness in the ankle with extra caution. At this point, Prescott is showing no signs of discomfort and looks on track to be a full participant for the start of training camp. Prescott also said that his agent and the Cowboys have had conversations about a contract extension, adding that he has plans in place to work out with potential holdout candidate CeeDee Lamb before the start of camp, per Machota.

  • Cameron Sutton PIT CB

Steelers' Cameron Sutton: Suspended eight games

    2d ago

Sutton has been suspended the first eight games of the 2024 regular season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Sutton's suspension relates to a March incident in which he was charged with one misdemeanor count of domestic battery. The veteran cornerback, who previously played for the Steelers from 2017 through 2022 before a one-year stint with Detroit last season, will be eligible for reinstatement after Pittsburgh's game against the Giants in Week 8. Once reinstated, he could mix in as a rotational player in the Steelers secondary.

Colts' Ashton Dulin: Moving well as training camp nears

    2d ago

Dulin (knee) did not participate in spring practices but has resumed running without a brace in personal workouts, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

Dulin's latest workout video shows him running and cutting in non-contact football activities, and it looks encouraging as he works his way back from a right ACL tear suffered in training camp last year. The 27-year-old is competing for a depth role in Indianapolis' crowded wide receiver room.
