    12h ago

The Hawks signed Lundy (ankle) to a two-way contract Tuesday, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.

Lundy will return to the Hawks on a two-way deal after they extended him an offer in restricted free agency. The 24-year-old appeared in just nine games for Atlanta in his rookie season and averaged 1.6 points and 0.8 rebounds across 5.8 minutes per game. Lundy recently underwent surgery to remove a bone spur, but he is expected to return to action for training camp in the fall.

George (rest) will not play in the Jazz's Salt Lake City Summer League matchup versus the Thunder on Tuesday, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports.

George scored a game-high 30 points in the club's Summer League opener against the Grizzlies. However, he will sit Tuesday as the Jazz take a look at their crowded rookie class of Cody Williams, Isaiah Collier and Kyle Filipowski. George was a key contributor in 2023-24, during which he averaged 13.0 points, 4.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds across 27.0 minutes in 75 regular-season games. The 20-year-old's next chance to suit up will come Wednesday versus the 76ers.

Pistons' Cade Cunningham: Reaches five-year extension

    16h ago

Cunningham (knee) and the Pistons agreed on a five-year, $224 million maximum rookie extension Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Cunningham's extension could end up being worth as much as $269 million, an outlay that signals that Detroit is committed to building around the 22-year-old guard. Coming off a 14-win season, the Pistons have made a concerted effort this offseason to bring aboard veterans who can space the floor, with Detroit adding Malik Beasley, Tim Hardaway and Tobias Harris in free agency. Though his 2023-24 season was cut short in early April due to left knee tendinopathy, Cunningham showed signs of growth in his third professional campaign, averaging 22.7 points, 7.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 33.5 minutes over 62 games. He should be healthy for the start of training camp this fall, if he hasn't been medically cleared already.

Mavericks' Quentin Grimes: Feels 100 percent

    16h ago

Grimes (knee) said Tuesday that he is "definitely 100 percent" ahead of Dallas' training camp, Grant Afseth of SI.com reports.

Due to a right knee sprain he suffered in January, Grimes played in only six games with Detroit after the Pistons acquired him via trade Feb. 8. The 24-year-old was a part of another deal this offseason, as he was sent to Mavericks in exchange for Tim Hardaway. Grimes appeared in 51 games last season with the Knicks and Pistons, averaging 7.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists across 20.1 minutes.

Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Shoots well from distance

    1d ago

Spencer tallied 11 points (4-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt), three rebounds and one steal over 19 minutes in Monday's 97-95 loss to the Jazz in the Salt Lake City Summer League.

Spencer played to his strengths in his first Summer League action, scoring nine of 11 points from beyond the arc. It's well known that the rookie out of UConn can knock down big shots, as he converted on 44.0 percent of his tries from three during his final collegiate season, so look for the guard to continue to fire from long distance during his transition to the next level. Spencer also showed upside on the glass Monday night by snagging three rebounds despite there being a shortage behind Zach Edey's 15-rebound performance.
